Herkimer Diamonds 

Herkimer Diamonds are rather special quartz crystals, usually mined in upstate New York. These special quartz crystals are know by their unusually bright reflection and by the crystal growth, which is always double terminated. That is, there is a point at each end of the crystal.

Long prized for clarity and shine they are without peer in the quartz group. The metaphysical properties include the ability to raise the spirits and enhance the dream state. They are very good to wear especially to chase away unhappy emotions or during stressful times.

These aren't related to diamonds, being quartz, but the nicer specimens make fine jewelry peices.
