Jewelry, fine jewelry, especially diamond jewelry, is best displayed with proper lighting and proper background. If it is going to be displayed (rather than hidden in a locked case) it should be displayed in such a way as to best show off the characteristics of that particular piece.

The set-up of a jewelry display plays a very important part in sales.The jewelry itself should be the main focus, but the jewelry display is used to catch a person's eye and heart. The proper lighting will make the diamonds glow and the metal glisten. Bad lighting or a bad background just makes everything look ... dull and lifeless.

There are a few tricks that can be used to make sure that your diamond jewelry display is one that makes the jewelry glow to it's best advantage and also one that captures attention (as long as there is quality jewelry inside!)

Color is an important thing to any display of art or wares, including, or especially, a jewelry display. There are several parts of the color selection to consider. One is the type of material of which the jewelry is made. 

Many retail outlets showcase a particular metal in each jewelry display case. One case may be sparkling with gold pieces while another shines with silver. Platimum will have its own section and diamond engagement rings are often grouped together in one jewelry display case regardless of the base metal they were crafted from.

To contrast the color of the metals and the precious stones the lining of the jewelry display case will be a deep hue. It’s very common to see a royal blue or an emerald green as the backdrop for the jewelry. White is frequently the backgrouind color for diamond jewelry.

The next important thing to think about within a jewelry display is the pricing. Are all the items the same price, or are some pieces more expensive than others? When designing a jewelry display, it is important to know which pieces you would like to sell the most.

What is in the display case besides the jewelry can help or hurt the jewelry sales. If the non-jewelry items in the display are more eye-catching than the jewelry itself, this will distract from the beauty of the jewelry. 

To create interest inside the jewelry display, it is best to put the jewelry on different levels. This way, the eye does not become bored looking at the jewelry all on the same plane. There are different options available to a jewelry seller. There are special pieces made to display necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and all other types of jewelry. Some pieces are made to diplay one item, a diamond tennis bracelet, for example; others might display a set of items, such as several pair of diamond earrings.

Another tip is to look at well crafted displays made by other people. See what catches your eye. If a display sucks your eye right to the incredibly gorgeous diamond piece in the center then it's a well made display. If there are too many distractions and it takes a moment to really see that piece then the display is poorly set up. Try and decide what's wrong with that and fix it in your own. A jewelry display can be an integral part of selling fine and diamond jewelry. With only a few tips, your display can become just as effective in selling and profit making as the jewelry inside it.
