Reiki - The Ulimate Energy

Reiki {pronounced Ray-Key} is a hands-on healing method utilizing the universal energy. “Rei” meaning light and “ki” referring to the Chi, or body energy. The way I like to explain it is:  The harnessing of the universal or Light energy and using the key or Chi to manifest it into the physical via the Reiki practitioner’s hands.

Reiki is NOT a religion, belief system, or cult, though some think of it as just this. Actually, Reiki is the ultimate alternative healing because it utilizes the power of the universal energy which makes up EVERYTHING. Anyone can benefit from Reiki no matter what religion and beliefs they may hold. Anyone can learn to give Reiki once they are trained. But, know this, it will change your entire way of thinking about the world because it will heal your spirit and connect you to your higher consciousness

A Brief Overview of the History of Reiki

Dr. Mikao Usui studied in Japan with Buddhists masters and, it is believed during this training, was granted the knowledge to create the system of Reiki for healing and utilizing the universal Light. Later he moved to Tokyo and, in 1922, founded the Usui Reiki Healing Society.

Later, after the death of Dr. Usui, Dr. Hayashi began to train many students in the art. One of these students was Mrs.Takata. She learned the practice of Reiki later taking this knowledge to Hawaii and, in 1937, the United States. She became known as a powerful healer and traveled throughout the world. It was not until 1970 that she began to initiate Reiki masters in this country. So the system of Reiki is new to western culture. It is now widely accepted and rapidly growing.

I first was introduced to Reiki last summer. I have studied in alternative healing for many years having a certificate in naturopathy and a medical degree. I worked as a psychic for fifteen years and  am a writer. I have recently published my channeled book “The Millenium Writings”. I have, for many years, used hands-on healing. Hearing about Reiki several years ago, I assumed it just to be another method of hands-on healing and really didn’t bother to investigate further.

Three years ago, I had an accident that almost devastated my life. It took me over a year and a half to come close to regaining my physical norm. After this I remained rather lost and disconnected from my spiritual conscious. I found myself becoming more and more depressed and frustrated. Somewhere in all of this, I began to remember about Reiki and thought perhaps this might help me regain my spiritual balance. I studied the internet and finally found a Reiki share night here in Phoenix. I spoke with the lady who was a Reiki master and decided to attend. 

This has become one of the most enlightening times of my life. I can truly say Reiki has saved my life! I wish I could put into words to express the light and energy in that room that first night. Later, I decided to do my Reiki practitioner Level II training. Even I was astonished to find the enlightenment of this experience and what it has done for my spirit. It has opened a whole new wellspring of spiritual understanding and meaning in my life.

Even though I am still not completely healed physically or spiritually, I now have the tool to enable me to do so. I am the first to admit I have a lot more to heal and overcome. A few years ago, when I was on my spiritual quest, I was “told” by my guides there would be a system being put into effect to enable manifestation from the higher dimension into the physical and I would understand it later. While taking my training I remembered this and realized what it was---Reiki.
 
There is much more to Reiki than just a method of hands-on healing. It is something that cannot be put in words. I encourage everyone to try this experience. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!!
